The document count covers six basic checks. “Not found” means we could not confirm it from the public records we reviewed—not that the testing never happened.

How Thymosin beta-4 is used in research

Thymosin beta-4 sequesters actin monomers and has been studied in cell motility, corneal and dermal wound models, angiogenesis, and inflammatory responses.

TB-500 is a commercial or experimental label that may refer to a thymosin-beta-4-related fragment or preparation. It should not be assumed to be chemically identical to full-length Tβ4 without sequence documentation.

Evidence map

Research stage matters. Findings from one model should not be silently promoted to another.

Laboratory

Cell studies examine actin dynamics, migration, and signaling.

Animal

Dermal, corneal, cardiac, and other injury models have been reported.

Human

Early clinical programs have investigated selected formulations and indications; no FDA-approved drug exists.

What the evidence does not establish

Results depend on the exact molecule, model, and formulation. Full-length Tβ4 evidence cannot automatically support a shortened TB-500 material.

Study findings also do not authenticate a supplier’s material. Biological plausibility, a familiar name, or a published paper cannot substitute for lot-specific identity and quality evidence.

Analytical and documentation checks

The test plan should match the exact molecule, modification, and research question.

  • Require the complete sequence; do not accept TB-500 as a sufficient chemical identity.
  • Confirm whether the test article is full-length Tβ4 or a fragment.
  • Match mass, purity, content, and lot identifiers to the stated molecule.

At minimum, connect the product name, sequence, sample identifier, lot, report, method, expected result, and observed result. Record untested attributes as “not reported,” not as assumed passes.

Regulatory status

Thymosin beta-4 and TB-500 products are not FDA-approved drugs. Thymosin beta-4 and its derivatives are prohibited by WADA.

Regulatory status can change and attaches to specific products and jurisdictions. Verify current official records before publishing, procuring, or relying on a status claim.
