Compare TB-500 listings without losing the evidence context
TB-500 is not a consistently specified molecular name across commercial catalogs. Price comparison is useful only after the listing and report establish what material is actually being offered.
Identity first
Check whether the supplier specifies full-length thymosin beta-4, a fragment or another TB-500-designated material. Do not assume those labels describe the same test article.
Normalize price
Price per mg can compare labeled quantities, but it cannot correct for an ambiguous sequence or molecular form.
Inspect evidence
Prioritize an exact sequence or expected mass, lot identifier, identity method and a report that matches the offered strength.
How TB-500 is used in research
TB-500 should not be assumed to mean full-length thymosin beta-4. A separate page is warranted because vendor catalogs often use the name for fragments or incompletely specified products.
This page separates molecule-level literature from claims about any supplier, lot, formulation, or intended use. Inclusion is educational and is not an endorsement.
Evidence map
Research stage matters. Findings from one model should not be silently promoted to another.
Laboratory
Published laboratory work addresses actin biology and related mechanisms.
Animal
Where animal studies exist, their model, exposure, endpoints, and test article must be evaluated before translation.
Human
Robust controlled human evidence is not established.
What the evidence does not establish
Evidence for full-length Tβ4 cannot validate an unspecified TB-500 product.
Study findings also do not authenticate a supplier’s material. Biological plausibility, a familiar name, or a published paper cannot substitute for lot-specific identity and quality evidence.
Analytical and documentation checks
The test plan should match the exact molecule, modification, and research question.
- Confirm the complete molecular identity, sequence, modifications, salt or counterion, and expected mass.
- Treat chromatographic area, identity, peptide content, sterility, and endotoxin as separate claims requiring separate evidence.
- Match every report to the offered lot and preserve the source record and review date.
At minimum, connect the product name, sequence, sample identifier, lot, report, method, expected result, and observed result. Record untested attributes as “not reported,” not as assumed passes.

Regulatory status
TB-500 is not FDA-approved and is prohibited in sport by WADA.
Regulatory status can change and attaches to specific products and jurisdictions. Verify current official records before publishing, procuring, or relying on a status claim.
